Project — The Meridian Foodbank, Inc is requesting a Rezone of the current property from I -L to
O-T for an expansion of the existing facility located on 0 . 59 acres of land .

Explanation : One of the functions of The Meridian Foodbank (MFB) is to provide the West Ada
School District with food packs for food insecure students to take home so they will have food to
eat over the weekends ,, The number of these food packs have been increasing. over the years . In
202joal: this number became so large as to come close to limiting the amount of food packs the
MFB is able to assemble . The solution to th is is to create more space . The proposal to add more
space is to enclose the area between the two main buildings on the property. This would add
approximately 940 square feet of work area.
During revi ew of our proposal with Meridian Planning Division it was determined that MFB was
non-compli ant with its current property zoning I-L . It was suggested that MFB have the zoning
changed to Old Town (041wT) . This should simplify MFB 13 s going forward va* th1* ts proposed
building modifications .
