Dear Council Members,
I am writing again to follow up on the Timbercreek discussion last Tuesday, 11/5.
We are the neighbor very close, directly south across Columbia Road, neighbors for thirty years.
The three days following the Council meeting were very noisy from loaders, trucks and industrial processing equipment
and with the rain, very foul. We enjoyed a very quiet weekend, & we thought of all of you all weekend.
As we all know, the 2019 DA created a mess for all of us, a disappointing mess that has progressively grown with
minimal boundary since 2019. The one solid boundary in place was that operations would cease (intake would stop)
when a Certificate of Occupancy was issued 1,000’ away. That was the one small consolation for the forty opposed and
deeply affected neighbors that were disregarded at the 2019 Council meeting. Several of those residents sold their
place as a direct result of the approval and the ensuing mess.
Those neighbors that remain are pleading with the Council that the Extension be approved for transition and exit only,
that the intake would stop when the CO date has arrived. The intake of material needs to stop coincident with the
issued CO per the DA, roughly a year from now. This is not a surprise. TCR has watched the houses coming for three
years. Their lack of planning can’t be our problem, can’t be your problem. An extension for exit would provide the
missing control, and the impact would be manageable for all. The clean-up and exit could take another 18 months, 30
months total from now with minimal compromise for all.
1
Please do not extend TCR’s time of operation. Extension should be for the time of transition and exit only to honor the
2019 DA.
Thank you for your efforts.
