Sir/Ma'am:
I am respectfully writing in OPPOSITION of this proposed project.
My reason for OPPOSITION are:
1. Major Traffic concerns as it is Overland Road and South Movado Way DOES NOT have a traffic light to
make the current traffic flow safer. If we add this development then the increase of traffic would be a lot
more than the area could handle especially if no traffic light is installed. As it is, I am very surprised there
has not been an injury/fatal crash as I have had a few close calls coming home off Overland Road the
way it is currently set up
2. More people=More Crime (Danger) Now, I do not have current stats on the crime that has happened in
our neighborhood area but, we just had a neighborhood watch meeting for our subdivision and we
thankfully are ok for now. But, I fear if high-density apartments/residential is established our safety could
be in jeopardy. As it is we did have a few home break-ins occur not far from where I live according to the
Meridian Police Department at our meeting
3. Our Home Values: Now I know change is inevitable. However, I had bought in our area after being told
that residential would be kept to a minimum and that commercial was zoned for our area. Now, 5 plus
years later I have more homes near me, and already fought one devepor over the Silverstone project
which got its approval after the developer made changes and was allowed to continue. Now the complex
exists.
Now, I am seeing this project being possibly approved and I am afraid that when it comes time for me to
sell. I will NOT get a fair market value due to people NOT wanting to be living in a high density zoned area.
That is what you are allowing if you are allowing this project to go through!!
