Subject:Testimony supporting the planned development Rolling Hill H-2023-0070:

(Community Business District)

Dear Meridian City Council Members,
Thank you for the opportunity to provide input on the proposed Rolling Hill development, H-2023-0070. I
am here to express my support for the annexation of this 6.90-acre area into the Community Business
District zone, as well as the plans for the two vertically integrated residential structures and multi-family
building.
This project represents a thoughtfully designed addition to Meridian. The integration of 90 residential
units with over 20,000 square feet of commercial space addresses both the demand for quality housing
and the need for convenient, community-oriented business opportunities. The inclusion of commercial
areas within the residential structures will not only enhance the walkability of the community but also
bring services and retail options directly to residents, reducing traffic and supporting local business
growth.
Additionally, the proposed multi-family building will add 64 more residential units, helping to meet the
housing demand while maintaining a compact footprint that aligns with smart growth principles. This
development maximizes land use effectively, avoiding suburban sprawl and instead fostering a
community-centric environment. Its location at 1560 Rolling Hill Dr. is ideal for accommodating new
growth while respecting the area’s character and integrating with surrounding developments.
The Conditional Use Permit and annexation approval will allow the developers to move forward with a
project that aligns well with Meridian’s strategic goals for sustainable growth, mixed-use development,
and economic resilience. By bringing more residents and businesses to this area, the Rolling Hill project
will contribute to a vibrant, active community space.
Thank you for considering my support of JD Planning and Consulting’s proposed development. I believe
this project will enrich Meridian, providing both housing and economic benefits while fostering a
connected, accessible community.
