Subject:Timber Creek Neighborhood Meeting Follow up
Neighbors:
Thank you again for attending the neighborhood meeting on Tuesday. Your input and feedback was very valuable
and helpful. Timber Creek sincerely wants to do what is responsible for you as our neighbors, the city, our
employees and our customers. The intent of the meeting was to provide a summary of the most recent public
hearing, our actions in response to what we heard were the primary pain points (Odor, Dust, Timeline) and get
some solution based input from you as neighbors. We felt those objectives were met.
In summary, I had the following notes as things the neighbors wants us to consider/explore as we finalize our
plans:
Accountability – How can we include some clear benchmarks in our plan in a way that they can be
inspectable and enforceable? Can Meridian Code Enforcement help us with this?
o Code Enforcement has been contacted to discuss what benchmarks they would be willing to
inspect and at what frequency.
Penalty – Can a penalty of some sort be incorporated into a development agreement so that there is a
consequence if a benchmark is not met? In other words, how do we give the agreement some “teeth”?
o Conversations have already been started with the attorneys.
Timeline – How can we add more clarity to the timeline for phasing out operations in Meridian, so that all
parties have clarity on expectations?
o Noted. Working to add that clarity in the final document which will be publicly available for review
prior to the hearing.
If you feel I missed something, please let me know. We are actively working to incorporate what we heard into our
final plan for the City Council to be submitted by next Tuesday, 29 Oct 2024. Thank you again for your time and
input.
