PETITION Bedford Place Homeowners RECEIVED NOV ~J iJ 2006 CITY OF MERIDiAN CITY CLERK OFFICE TO: City of Meridian Planning and Zoning 660 E. Watertower, Ste 202 Meridian, ID 83642 RE: Proposal to establish a Group Child Care Home 672 E. Baldwin St. Meridian, ill 83646 The residents ofthe Bedtord Place subdivision in Meridian, ill, whose signatures appear below, petition the City of Meridian Planning and Zoning to deny an application for a conditional use to permit to establish a Group Child Care Home at the property located at 672 E. Baldwin. The owners of the property, Pam and Casey Minshew, purchased the property but have stated they will not live in the home but instead intend to make it solely a commercial property for the operation of a Group Child Care Home business, with up to twelve (12) children attending per day, Monday - Friday between the hours of7:00 am to 5:15 pm. Bedford Place is zoned R-8 and was developed as a single family residential subdivision. We, the residents of Bedford Place, feel that approval of the application would have a detrimental impact on the neighborhood. It would convert a residential home into a non- occupied commercial business property within a residential neighborhood, cause a decline in property resale values throughout the subdivision, increase non-residential vehicle traffic on our streets, increase the risk of pedestrian injury to children, cause an offensive noise level to nearby residents from children at the business playing outdoors, and spoil the pleasing benefit of living in Bedford Place. We ask that you deny the application for a conditional use permit for a Group Child Care Home in Bedford Place.
