ID 6 Nov 2006 We, the property owners in the vicinity of 435 W. Broadway Ave. have concerns about the proposed Rezoning of the above property from I-L (light industrial) to R-8 (medium density residential). Application RZ 06-009. This property is located in a neighborhood of existing single family dwellings and small businesses. R-8 zoning would open the door to developers ruining this existing neighborhood with Multiple-family dwellings or Apartments. This would ruin the close knit, quiet neighborhood that we have worked at developing over the years. During the October Planning and Zoning Meeting the Planning and Zoning Commissioners agreed with our position on this matter and recommended a reduction of the proposed Rezone to R-4 (medium-low density). This Proposed change in the Application is considered a favorable compromise by those of us in the neighborhood_ During the Planning and Zoning meeting the new owner of the property, Vicki Garton, said that would work for her also. Again, We support the Planning and Zoning commissioner's recommendation to rezone the above property from I-L to Residential on to the extent that it does not exceed R-4 (medium-low density).
