Dear Mr. Whitlock, This email is submitted in opposition to the proposed development, Baratza Subdivision H- 2024-0016 located at N. Black Cat Rd and W. McMillan Rd. I feel that this development proposal is in direct conflict with the goals of the City of Meridian, as outlined in the Comprehensive City Plan of 2019. I strongly urge the Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Council to DENY this proposed development and any request for higher density rezoning for this application. The traffic congestion at this intersection is HORRENDOUS. We see multiple car accidents on a weekly basis. We can barely get in/out of our subdivision (The Oaks) with cars backed up at the 4-way stop for so very far, on any given day/time. The condition of the roads is already deteriorated and sub-standard for the current amount of traffic impact. The schools in the area are at capacity. Until such a time that the City's infrastructure and support services (schools, PD, Fire, medical, roads, irrigation, fiberoptic, etc) are expanded in a thoughtful long-term manner, AND the round-about is completed at this intersection, AND both Black Cat and McMillan are widened, there should be NO FURTHER subdivisions permitted in this quadrant for single family dwellings or apartment/multi family applications, including Chinden and Black Cat (the only exception of my support is for Addison Circle as adding only 7 single family dwellings to a current dead end street- on Torana). Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Stephanie Mathis 4951 W Astonte Street Meridian ID 83646 1
