Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express concern about the increasing traffic congestion in
our city, particularly in the areas around Ten Mile Rd.
This video is of me trying to get two of my children to a doctor appointment on Wednesday. This is the on
ramp of I 84 at the Ten Mile rd. This video is not an isolated moment. Traffic is a constant now.

I understand that managing traffic in a growing city is a challenge, but I believe that taking proactive steps now
can prevent further deterioration of the situation. For example, adding high density housing in the plan of “the
district” is a slap in the face for the current citizens of Meridian. We DO NOT want it.
I would like to urge the city to carefully consider the long-term impact of continued high-density development
and to focus on balancing growth with thoughtful planning, adequate infrastructure, and a focus on preserving
the character of our town.
My family and I have loved living here for the last 10 years. And we have noticed a great decline in the sense
of community in the last few years. It feels like the town’s growth is outpacing its ability to provide the
necessary services and amenities, such as schools and parks, to accommodate the growing number of
residents.
And no, the new ramp of I 84 is not going to alleviate this traffic problem. The addition of the district,
restaurants, scheels, Costco, etc have left us in the neighborhood struggling to make it one mile down the
road without traffic.
I would greatly appreciate your attention to this matter. This needs to be addressed. No more high density
housing! Save our Meridian!
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Melissa Hamilton
