Dear Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission,
The area around where the Pivot Point subdivision is being requested is an area of concern for me.
There is a seemingly neverending list of new neighborhoods being proposed, approved and built in
this area around Ten Mile and Franklin. Pine is quickly filling up with housing to a degree that the
benefits of this new roadway will soon be lost as traffic increases. Both Ten Mile and Black Cat have
terrible traffic with no planned improvements in sight. The local Elementary School, Chaparral, is
currently at 99% capacity with no additional schools planned to be built to relieve the added numbers
from all the housing units currently under construction. There are also no plans to add libraries or
parks in this area to serve the ever-increasing population, putting a heavier burden on spaces that
were not intended for use by this many people.
I urge you to only approve the minimum amount of units necessary to fulfill zoning requirements for
this request, which I hope is less than the 40 units being proposed. I understand the importance of
fulfilling zoning requirements as laid out in the Future Land Use Map, but with the unprecedented
amount of residential units being added to this already busy and, I would say, overcrowded area, I
believe only minimum densities should be approved until infrastructure has a change to catch up with
development.
Thank you,
Karla Ehlers

Dear Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission,
I am very concerned with the number of high-density housing that is being built in the Ten Mile
interchange area. There is a seemingly neverending list of new apartments being proposed, approved
and built in this area, which goes against Meridians Comprehensive Plan that states we should not
concentrate any one type of housing in a particular area. There are already 3000 apartments built or
approved within a mile of this area - that is more than enough.
Ten Mile has been given a F grade by ACHD with with no planned improvements in sight. The local
Elementary School, Chaparral, is currently at 99% capacity with no additional schools planned to be
built to relieve the added numbers from all the housing units currently under construction, let alone
more housing units. There are also no plans to add libraries or parks in this area to serve the ever-
increasing population, putting a heavier burden on spaces that were not intended for use by this
many people.
I urge you to only approve the minimum amount of units necessary to fulfill zoning requirements for
this request, which I sincerely hope is less than the 500+ units being requested. I understand the
importance of fulfilling zoning requirements as laid out in the Future Land Use Map, but with the
unprecedented amount of residential units being added to this already busy and, I would say,
overcrowded area, I believe only minimum densities should be approved until infrastructure has a
chance to catch up with development.
Thank you,
