I really appreciate when our neighbors take time to communicate their perspective on possible projects. The City Council is prohibited from commenting while not on the public record, but I wanted you to know that I have received your email and after reading it will pass it along to the clerk to be included in the record. Thanks again for reaching out! While I understand the need for growth and development in our city, I believe there are serious issues that must be considered before moving forward with this project. > > Our community is already experiencing a saturation of high-density housing, which has led to significant challenges. The infrastructure along Ten Mile Road and the surrounding areas is already strained. Traffic congestion is a daily issue, and the offramp for the Ten Mile exit is frequently overburdened. Adding more high-density housing would only exacerbate these problems, putting additional pressure on our roads, increasing commute times, and potentially impacting public safety. > > Additionally, our schools are currently overcrowded, and the addition of more residents without addressing the capacity issues in our education system would negatively affect the quality of education in our community. This proposed development will bring more families into an area that is already struggling to accommodate the current 2 population. > > It is clear from conversations with neighbors and other community members that this is not a development that aligns with what we want or need in this area. I urge you to reconsider the inclusion of high-density housing in The District at Ten Mile and instead explore alternatives that would better serve our community’s long-term needs and growth. > > Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope that the city will take these concerns seriously and work with the community to develop solutions that benefit everyone. > > Sincerely, > Kietra Stokes > 1020 N. Oxwich Ave > Meridian, ID
