Subject: Support for Timber Creek Development Agreement H-2024-0032
As a former Ada County Commissioner, I’m writing to express my strong support for the
Development Agreement between the City of Meridian and Timber Creek. Over the past
decade, Timber Creek has been an invaluable partner in managing Meridian's wood waste and
leaves, as well as handling similar waste for the entire county. Their commitment to our
community and environmental stewardship has been evident throughout their years of service.
Building the necessary infrastructure for waste management on a growing scale takes time,
especially when coordinating with multiple agencies and ensuring public safety. Timber Creek is
working hard to develop sustainable solutions for Meridian’s expanding needs, but rushing this
process would lead to potential inefficiencies and disruptions. Their proven track record
demonstrates they have the capability to get this right—if given the appropriate time.
Timber Creek has shown they are not just focused on immediate results, but on building a long-
term, responsible waste management system. By allowing them the additional time required,
Meridian will benefit from a robust, sustainable infrastructure that meets both current and
future needs.
I urge you to extend the necessary time for Timber Creek to complete this critical project,
ensuring the ongoing success of our waste management systems and the health and safety of
our community.
