Subject: Shepherds Creek Development and the City's proposed Kodiak Collector
Tammy,
Hi, I am a homeowner in Bear Creek Subdivision in Meridian. I had a home built in this
neighborhood because we value a large lot with privacy, have a semiquiet neighborhood with nice
homes, and have a park in our subdivision.
Recently the traffic on Stoddard, Overland, and Meridian road has become unbearable. I have to
leave for work an extra ten minutes early just to make it to the freeway one mile away because of
traffic. I am very concerned with the proposed Shepherds Creek Development and the proposed
Kodiak Collector_ Bear Creek Subdivision and neighboring Belissima Stradda density is 2.5
homes/acre as opposed to the 8 homes/acre proposed by the developer of Shepard Creek; and the
Kodiak Collector Street which was not addressed in any of the public hearing notices. This density is
way too high for a new subdivision in this area and will decrease the prices of our homes drastically.
Also the proposed collector will increase the traffic drastically in our subdivision with cars speeding
to get to work in a residential area.
I urge you and the city council to take a very close look at this proposed plan and at least change the
density to no more than 4 homes per acre and not to have the collector connect to Bear Creek
Subdivision. Meridian has expanded too fast for the infrastructure to keep up with, please do not let
this mistake happen to our neighborhood. We need to plan properly for the future.
Thank you,
Mel Tenneson
