Dear Council Member Roberts, I respectfully state that I am extremely against the council and mayor approving the proposed 4% property tax. My husband and I are on a fixed retirement income. We are struggling to keep up with the current inflation rate in our nation. The price of food, gasoline, clothing and all services are much more expensive than when we retired three years ago. We no longer eat out and have cancelled our vacation plans for this year. We just 1 can't afford to do the things we could several years ago. I have empathy for families with children, trying to feed their families with this inflation. I am frustrated at the thought that the city council would consider gouging its citizens at this time. The food tax is another issue, people need to be able to purchase food and not be taxed for needing to eat. Sorry for the side note. Please consider my opposition to this matter. Sincerely, Debra Ginn 2700 S. Slate Creek Way Meridian, ID 83642 208-872-6591 2
