Hello City Council - We strongly oppose the extension and expansion of Timbercreek Recycling agreement to use property at Locust Grove and Columbia Roads in Meridian. We do not understand why the City is allowing them to not meet their agreement requirements and contractual obligations by extending their timeline and operational uses. An agreement is a contract - does the City not stand by the contractual terms they agreed to with Timbercreek? Or is it that the City forgets about the southern end of Meridian and all the investment that developers, individuals, county, transportation agencies, and the City has made in the Pinnacle area? The new library, outdoor amphitheater, Discovery Park, the new streets, small businesses, charter school, and beautiful neighborhoods? It’s a beautiful area of Meridian - one that the City can be proud of …. until you see the numerous recycling trucks, smell the whatever it is, drive by their facility…. Please City Council, continue with the investments made in this area and continue the trend of a development to be proud of with multiple partners and not let one industrial operation ruin it. THEY AGREED TO CEASE OPERATIONS WHEN NEW RESIDENTS MOVED IN - WELL THAT WAS TWO YEARS AGO IN 2022. They should be fined for continuing operations for the past 2 years. We bought our home in Pinnacle with the understanding that Timbercreek Recycling was shutting down and would be vacating that land. And that was based on not just heresy from the developers and real estate agents, but the City of Meridian’s website that showed the agreements. This is a wonderful neighborhood of a diversity of home owners from young families with children to retirees who moved here to enjoy their golden years. We urge City Council to VOTE NO on Timbercreek Recycling’s request and TO FINE THEM FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS of not meeting their contractual obligations. Use the funds to buy more land and add to Discovery Park. Thank you, Donna Studniarz E Spire St, Pinnacle Meridian, ID 1
