HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-07-18 Wade Ramsey Gree?ngs, My name is Wade Ramsey, I live at 4013 West Lost Rapid Drive in Meridian in the Bainbridge Subdivision, which is in the 500’ impact zone of the Blayden Subdivision Project. I am the President of the Homeowner’s Associa?on for Bainbridge and we represent the 572 homes in our community. We are one of the neighborhoods directly to the east of the proposed Blayden Subdivision across Black Cat Road. While we are mindful and suppor?ve of progress and development we do have some concerns listed below that will affect us with the addi?on of Blayden. A. Northbound access to Chinden Blvd: As we understand the plans there will not be any access to northbound Black Cat from Blayden, which obviously will push all vehicles exi?ng Blayden southbound on Black Cat. B. Eastbound on Vanderbilt Drive: We believe and are very concerned that this will become the main route of Blayden residents wan?ng to travel to Costco, Walmart, and the mul?tude of shops, restaurants, fuel sta?ons, etc. Vanderbilt is a residen?al street with a lot of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, which includes children going to Pleasant View Elementary. C. Vanderbilt is not a direct route to Chinden or Ten Mile Road; there are several twists and turns to get to North Tree Farm Way and/or West Lost Rapids Drive with several common areas, pools and parks along the way. D. Southbound traffic on Black Cat: Currently during peak hours there are substan?al backups at the 4-way stop at Black Cat and McMillan; adding several thousand vehicles to this route will be unsustainable. Stoplights or at least a completed roundabout would help alleviate this issue somewhat. E. Sidewalks: As interpreted in the plans the Blayden sidewalk will only extend north to Chinden and south to Larry Lane. Southbound this leaves only roadside pedestrian travel (likely school children) for approximately 500 feet. With the current 45 MPH speed limit this creates a substan?al hazard. As the five members Bainbridge HOA Board, represen?ng 572 homes and over 1100 voters, we are opposed to Blayden Subdivision being approved un?l the infrastructure shortcomings noted above are addressed. Thanks for your a?en?on and ?me on this ma?er.
