Planning and Zoning Commissioners,
Thank you for meeting tonight on this important issue. I am a 25+ year Meridian resident. I know you are clearly aware
of the exponential growth in the area and often must accommodate such growth, but the plans for the 'city of
apartments' at The Gateway at Ten Mile is over the top. We currently have so much apartment development in
Meridian already.
Yes, we have a housing shortage, as do many places throughout great western cities, but hopefully this will be addressed
with a different administration working on national and economic issues that will affect Idaho positively. But until then,
we need to think about the future of our City and prevent projects that diminish Meridian into a mundane suburbia with
severe traffic problems. 6,000+ more people in this small area on Ten Mile and Franklin Roads, including more
school buses, emergency medical vehicles, police patrols, does not seem responsible.
Please don't allow outside planners to make Meridian into a place similar to what many of our new residents are
fleeing.
