1. May 29, 2024 meeting minutes approved.
STAFF PROGRAM REPORT
2. Monthly Presentation: Franchise Agreement 101 (Staff Schultz)
City of Meridian has an exclusive franchise agreement with Republic Services. Republic
is the primary hauler for all solid waste. If Republic is not able to haul a certain type of
material, then the City can look for a third-party hauler. HHW is an example of a
material that uses a third-party hauler. Part of the agreement is written in the City code
and within the City's solid waste contract with the hauler.
3. Tabling: Meridian Library's Homeownership Fair,August 3ra, 10a-3p (Staff Schultz)
Commissioner Larsen can help table at this event.
4. Trash or Treasure post event survey results (Staff Schultz)
Residents who participated has a giver during the event had an opportunity to take an
online post-survey. The survey results showed that about 80% of participants thought
it was very easy to find information about the event. 78% of participants printed off the
official Yard Sign, while about 5% made their own. More than 70% of individuals who
were also Treasure Hunters thought the online treasure map was easy to use. 45% of
participants indicated that all of their treasure items were taken, 46% said some of
their items were taken, and 10% claimed none of their treasures were taken. Of the

All Materials presented at public meetings shall become property of the City of Meridian
items that were left over,the majority of participants (18.3%) said that they scheduled
a bulky item pickup for leftover items and 17.8% of participants donated their leftover
items.
OLD BUSINESS [ACTION ITEMS]
S. Recycle a Bicycle updates (Staff Schultz, Commissioner Nelson)
Non-Meridian resident bike requests are currently being worked on. Rachele from
Republic noted that over 40 requests have been filled and they are almost complete
with the request list. Commissioner Cory commented that he developed a Thank You
Letter to Meridian Cycles for all their help and donations. He plans on delivering the
letter soon. Commission thought letter was a good idea.
6. Arts Contest Sub-Committee creation (Commissioner Larsen)
Art sub-committee will be comprised of Meg, Bethany, and Mark/Scott. Their task will
focus on outreach to all ages, finding sponsors, and updating documents and website.
Hopefully by spring,the sub-committee will complete these tasks.
