To Whom It May Concern:
I have serious concerns about the approval for the Gateway apartment project. I just don’t
think our current infrastructure can support anymore growth right now. Ten Mile is already
horribly congested and our schools are overflowing. Has the board considered the number
of kids that would be moving into the district and whether or not our current schools can
sustain that kind of growth? Is the project going to contribute towards building new schools?
What are the plans for expanding Ten Mile? Is Gateway going to contribute towards those
costs? I know we are anticipating the opening of highway 16 as a freeway, but how soon will
that be done in correlation with how quickly the apartments will be built?
I’m not saying those apartments should never be built or approved. But we need to make
sure our infrastructure can support them before they are built. Thank you for considering my
concerns.
