Home My WebLink About24-2459 Donation Supplies Computers CITY OF MERIDIAN RESOLUTION NO. 24-2459 BY THE CITY COUNCIL: CAVENER,LITTLE ROBERTS, OVERTON STRADER, TAYLOR,WHITLOCK A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,IDAHO, SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES TO DECLARE SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF CERTAIN COMPUTER AND EQUIPMENT TO COMPUTERS FOR KIDS WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Meridian to declare that certain computers and equipment as attached in Exhibit"A" as surplus, as these particular items are no longer needed or used by the City of Meridian; WHEREAS,the City of Meridian's purchasing policy allows surplus City property to be donated to other agencies exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code when the value of the property in question is of nominal value, that is, valued at less than the cost of disposing of the property; WHEREAS,the cost of maintaining the computer equipment would result in the unnecessary expenditure of City funds; and WHEREAS,the City of Meridian desires to donate the computer equipment listed in Exhibit "A"to Computers for Kids, which is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare that certain computers and equipment as attached hereto as Exhibit"A" are surplus property. Section 2. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorizes the donation of the computers and equipment listed in Exhibit"A"to Computers for Kids. The Department will contact the auction company or donating agency to arrange pick up. F. Once the property is disposed of, Finance will note on the form the Final Disposition of Property and will delete item from the Fixed Asset Listing.
