Hi Kellie, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts and concerns about the proposed project. Your email has been received by the office and we will make sure to share it with the Mayor and Council. While there is currently no formal application of this project requiring a Council public hearing, the Mayor and Council are generally cautioned on individual conversations outside of any public forum, as there is a chance that an application for this can come before the Council in the future. That terminology and process can be confusing sometimes, so I am happy to chat with you if you have additional questions and/or get you to the planning staff if need be. All of that said, I have copied the City Clerk, Chris Johnson, so that he can add your comments and email to the public record, and I have also copied the City Planning Manager so this record can also be added to the project file. Again, thank you for reaching out. Dave Miles | Chief of Staff City of Meridian | Mayor’s Office 33 E. From: Kellie Elliott Email: Kgelliott13@gmail.com Phone: 2088301953 Question/Comment: Comment RE Firenze Plaza and the DEV News article that a “exciting national fast food chain….McDonald’s has sent their Pre-application paperwork filed with the city shows a 4,507-square-foot McDonald’s is 1 planned for the site.” PLEASE for the LOVE of health, kids, community reject this! I live in this neighborhood and the last thing I want is some disgusting, low quality no fresh ingredients, cheap fast food chain like McDonald’s in our neighborhood dragging our home values down and making everyone fat. How gross! I implore you to not encourage absolute trash food like McDonalds into our beautiful neighborhood! It DOES NOT align with this area at all. Club Pilates and McDonalds in the same parking lot….how ridiculous! We do not need a McDonald’s on every populated corner! Drive by the one at Lake Hazel & Five Mile with your windows rolled down - then imagine you are enjoying your awesome backyard and all you can smell is fried food! Don’t believe me? Drive by there or go to one of the homes located around that McDonalds and ask them!! Please do not approve McDonalds in Firenze Plaza! I’d prefer NO fast food chains (GO with family owned restaurants or a healthier chain) but really…to choose the bottom of the barrel in fast food, McDonslds would be THE worse! Should we contact you?: Yes 2
