RE: Black Rock Coffee CUP H-2024-0011 May 6, 2024
Dear Ms. Hersh,
Valley Regional Transit has reviewed the request for development application for Black Rock
Coffee located on the southwest corner of Ten Mile and Pine. VRT currently runs routes 30-Pine
and 45-Boise State-CWI along Ten Mile. VRT has identified Ten Mile as a key north-south
transit route in the future as identified in the long-range transit plan Valley Connect 2.0
valleyconnect2 apr18 final.pdf(vallevregionaltransit.org) (see page 49). As this area will continue to
be developed with mixed use a bus stop will be beneficial to riders in this location. As a result,
VRT suggests the following conditions:
1. Valley Regional Transit requests 1 Standard bus stops (size medium) with a concrete pad
10'x28' be poured between the sidewalk and curb on Ten Mile (locations identified
below). The purpose of the pad is to provide an ADA compliant boarding/alighting area.
The concrete pad will allow VRT to schedule a stop there as part of current and future
route planning and move amenities such as signage and a bench onsite in accordance
with the Bus Stop Typology Kit of Parts(page 22). BST KitOfParts.pdf
(vallevregionaltransit.org)
2. A transit review application needs to be completed and returned to Valley Regional
Transit at least 45 days prior to the estimated construction date for review and
approval. A completed application will provide VRT the applicants contact information,
construction schedule and proposed pad location. There is no fee for the application.
The application is found at the following link:
