To: City of Meridian (comment@meridiancity.org) From: Bruce Dickinson, Director Jackson Square Homeowners Associa?on, Inc. RE: CitySide Storage (H-2023-0058) I serve as a Director of the Jackson Square Homeowners Associa?on (JS-HOA), which is about 155 yards west (according to Google Earth) of the proposed CitySide Storage project in the Bienville Square Commercial Subdivision on Eagle Road. The board of the JS-HOA reviewed the proposed site plan and renderings with the applicant this week, including height, entrance points, screening walls, and fit with the neighborhood. We also reviewed a rendering showing the building from the NW on N Cajun Lane. The applicant also described the new “pocket park” they proposed in their site plan at the southeast corner of their property (ie, Eagle and the irriga?on canal), featuring open-space, benches and possibly artwork. This new park would ?e into the exis?ng pathway that loops through our neighborhood and is used extensively by our residents. We prefer the use of self-storage over other uses primarily due to the low traffic it would generate through our neighborhood. Other benefits include minimal parking conflicts and low noise associated with the proposed self-storage facility, as well as the ability to u?lize the facility for our own residents’ storage. The JS-HOA supports the CitySide Storage project as proposed by the applicant at the Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing on March 21, 2024.
