This rate adjustment coincides with the beginning of the next fiscal year,' ' October 1,20.0.6.' , ,.:' . , , , Adjustment Methodology Our contract -requires that' our costs be adjUsted annually, based upon the "net percentage of'changein th~ Consumer Pric,e Index.for the Pacific Northwest." (The CPI iSflO loriger published for the Pacific Northwest so we. have' used the CPI for the Western Region of the United' States.) Further, we reduce' the calculated change'in the CPI by ten percent to account for aspects of the CPI that do not apply to our business. Attached to this mell, lorandum is the CPI printout from .the U.S. Bur~au of Labor Statistics. The CPI for~uly' one year .ago was ,198,6 and this year it is 20.6.7. The net percentage change 'between the two values is4.o.S%. Then, reducing this number by 10. percent yields a CPI adj~stment of 3.67% that is applied to our C()sts.
