TO:
Mayor and City Council
City Of Meridian
City Clerk Office
FROM:
Joseph Silva, Deputy Chief, Fire Prevention
SUBJECT:
Canterbury Commons Subdivision
The following will be the requirements and/or concerns to provide minimum levels of fire
protection for the proposed project:
1. Access roads greater than 150' in length shall be provided with an approved turn-
around. Submit revised civil plan showing a turn-around on the West end ofW. Jayton
Ln. or reduce the length of the dead-end. . Distance shall be measured from the face of
curb of the West side ofN. Lynhurst to the most West end ofW. Jayton Ln.
2. Submit revised civil plan showing 28' inside & 48' outside turning radius for all
curves on all Private and Public streets. Fire Department access shall be provided
while remaining in the primary travel lane.
3. Access for firefighting and emergency medical service shall be provided in front of
each and every building. The access way shall be 9' wide and be provided with a
vertical curb to prevent illegal parking of vehicles.
4. The fire department is concerned that longer SUV's and pickups will partially
obstruct the 25' wide fire department access road. It is also recommended that the
vision triangle be improved for vehicles backing out of 19' long parking stall onto
the 25' wide access road.
