TO: Meridian City Planning and Zoning Committee February 15, 2024 REGARDING: Upcoming P&Z Committee Meeting on February 15, 2024 REFERENCE: Reveal Ridge Permit No H-2023-0050 Dear Committee members, My name is Aisa Jenkins and our family lives at 2996 E Darcy Dr Meridian, 83642 in The Keep Subdivision just north of the proposed Reveille Ridge project. I am writing you this email concerning the proposed rezone request that is being reviewed at the upcoming planning and zoning hearing tonight, February 15th. We are not in support of the request to change the zoning to a higher density than what it is currently allowed for. 1 We understand that development is a given in this growing part of Meridian and understand that the land around us was likely to be developed however, we were encouraged by the City of Meridian’s Comprehensive Plan and lower density zoning around us. There is already a traffic issue in this area, and despite the new upgrades coming to Lake Hazel and Eagle intersection, we do not feel it is appropriate for the Committee to upzone the property to the south of us. CBH homes is a very experienced developer; their team can easily use the same resources as we do to check zoning where they buy parcels for development. We believe there is already an appropriate amount of Medium and Medium-High density zoning on Lake Hazel at Locust Grove and Eagle Rd. The Keep Homeowners, along with those around us in low density zoned areas want the new communities to be developed in accordance with the current zoning code. We feel that the City’s Comprehensive Plan sets a vision for this area of South Meridian that we can all be proud of, but we strongly oppose increasing density of the zoning for this project. We are very concerned about traffic on the major arteries and the cut through traffic that will eventually come through our neighborhood where our children play. We appreciate you time and consideration and look forward to your vote of denying the zoning change for this project. Thank you, Aisa and Laura Jenkins 2996 E. Darcy Dr. Meridian, ID 83642 2
