REGARDING: Upcoming P&Z Commi?ee Mee?ng on February 15, 2024
REFERENCE: Reveal Ridge Permit No H-2023-0050
Dear Commi?ee members,
My name is Greg Mitchell, and my wife and I currently live at 2956 E Bingley Dr in “The Keep” just north of the proposed
Reveille Ridge project.
I am wri?ng you this le?er of concern for the proposed rezone request that is being reviewed at the upcoming planning
th
and zoning hearing on February 15. We are not in support of the request to change the zoning to a higher density
than what is currently allowed for.
We love South Meridian and understand that development is a given in this growing part of the community. We
understand that the land around us was likely to be developed but we were encouraged by the City of Meridian’s
Comprehensive Plan and lower density zoning around us.
There is already a traffic issue in this area, and despite the new upgrades coming to Lake Hazel and Eagle intersec?on,
we do not feel it is appropriate for the Commi?ee to upzone the property to the south of us. CBH homes is a very
experienced developer; their team can easily use the same resources as we do to check zoning where they buy parcels
for development.
We already have an appropriate amount of Medium and Medium-High density zoning on Lake Hazel at Locust Grove and
Eagle Rd. Our neighborhood and the neighbors we have around us in low density zoned areas want the communi?es
developed in accordance with the current zoning code.
We feel that the City’s Comprehensive Plan sets a vision for this area of South Meridian that we can all be proud of, but
we strongly oppose increasing density of the zoning for this project. We are very concerned about traffic on the major
arterials and the cut through traffic that will eventually come through our neighborhood where our children play.
We appreciate you ?me and considera?on and look forward to your vote of denying the zoning change for this project.
Thank you,
1
