TO: Meridian City Planning and Zoning Committee REFERENCE: Reveille Ridge Permit No H-2023-0050 Planning & Zoning Meeting Dear Planning & Zoning Committee Members, My name is Paul. My family and I currently reside in the South Meridian ‘The Keep’ subdivision. I’m writing in opposition to the proposed rezoning of the property in what would be the Reveille Ridge subdivision in South Meridian. The proposed subdivision spans two parcels. The first parcel (S1405131500) is currently identified as ‘Low Density’ in the Future Land Use Map and the developer wants to change the use to ‘Medium Density.’ The second parcel (S1405142100) is currently identified as ‘Medium Density’ and the developer is seeking to change the use to ‘Medium-High Density.’ The developer submitted the proposed subdivision knowing the plan would be counter to the land use map adopted only 18 months ago. Growth is exploding around our neighborhood and making a change to the thoughtfully designed Future Use Land Map will add undue strain to infrastructure already insufficient due to the recent Skybreak, Sky Mesa, East Ridge, Pinnacle, Lavender Heights, and Apex subdivision construction. We strongly oppose increasing the density allowable on these parcels and respectfully request you deny the developer this change and require they develop the land in the spirit of the currently approved Future Land Use Map designation.
