Ada County is supportive of the proposed annexation as it is compatible with Goal 2.2 of the Ada County Comprehensive Plan, which encourages urban development be directed to Areas of City Impact where investments in urban services have already been made. The Future Land Use Map of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by Ada County, designates the site as Mixed-Use Regional, which is intended to provide a mix of employment, retail, residential dwellings, and public uses near major arterial intersections. As the site includes a single-family residence and annexation is due to the necessity to connect to city services it is supported by the following goal of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, Goal 2.01.01, which encourages diverse housing options for various income levels, household sizes, and lifestyle preferences.
