To Whom It May Concern:
The purpose of this application is first to apply for a Conditional Use Pennit for a preschool, and
second to rezone the campus of Cherry Lane Christian Church from R4 zoning to L-O zoning.
After meeting with David McKinnon, Planner for the City of Meridian, it was decided that L-O
zoning would be more appropriate for a church than the R4 zoning that is currently in place.
Cherry Lane Christian Church is in an idea11ocation for a preschool because of the residential
area surrounding it. with the growth of Meridian and surrounding areas more preschools are
needed to service our community. Our goal is to provide a safe learning environment for
preschoolers: CLCC's fi1cility was designed with age appropriate classrooms, bathrooms and
equipment.
The classrooms that we desire to use are cnrrently vacant during the week. They are used on
Sundays exclusively at this time. Using them for a preschool would make better use of a facility
already designed for this age group.
The CLCC campus is easily accessible to the surrounding neighborhood. The driveway's exits
and entrances open onto a 5-lane road, with adequate turning lanes. The existing parking lot has
adequate space for workers of the preschool, church employees and any parents arriving to pick
up or drop off their children, Due to the number of parking spaCes available, there should be no
concern about on street parking, curbside parking or other traffic congestion. The parking lot has
a safe flow through and a covered area near the preschool that can be used to pick up and drop off
the preschoolers during inclement weather.

Dear Neighbors,
Cherry Lane Christian Church is again seeking to expand services to the
community. A survey ofthiscommunityreveals a large demand for more preschool
service. Others have approached us about establishing a private school.
In order to provide these services to our community, we will need to make
application to Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission for several items:
1) Approval of preschool
2) Approval of private school
3) Approval of light commercial zone
4) Enclosure of our existing "Tot Lot"
5) Addition ofa small resource room
We value your input as a neighbor and we want to be a good neighbor. We are
scheduling two meetings to inform our neighbors and answer questions concerning these
proposed services to this community. _ The meetings are scheduled for Thursday, May 9th
at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 15th at 8:15 p.m. We invite you to attend whichever
meeting is most convenient in your schedule. The meetings will be held at our church
campus, 2511 W. Cherry Lane, in the Fireside Room at the northeast corner of our
Family Life Center.
