Noise.Abatement for Residential D~eloJ?ment, Should the development include residential buildings, please require
the following: t '
1. The applicant shall provide traffi,c noise a.batement by constructing a beJDl or a berm and wall combination
approximately parallel to the state highway and off the state right of way.
2, The top of the berm. or berm an4 wall in combination. shall be a minimum. of ten feet higher than the elevation at
the ceJJterline of the state highwa.y.
3. 11 a wall is proposed, the wall ~all meet the following standards:
a. Wall materials shall be ~ervious concrete or stucco, UD.less otherwise approved by the Idaho
Transportation Departnlent as a sound attenua.ting material.
b. Intermittent breaks in tJ:i.e berm or berm and wall in combination will degrade the function and should not
be allowed.
4. Alternative noise abatement designs that meet Federal Highway Administration guidelines may be proposed by
the developer. The applicant shPuld contact Greg Vitley, Environmental Section Manager at (208) 334-8952.
