We, the property owners of the Carol SubdivisionJ submit this petition to you as evidence of our
strong opposition to the Red Cliff Development's request for a Variance for full access to Bienville
Square from State Highway 55 (Eagle Road) for BienvHle Square Subdivision located at 2539 N.
Eagle Road. In fact. we oppose ANY access to Eagle Road from this development, and support
the previous denials by traffic authorities ACHD and lTD.
We ask that you deny this variance for numerous reasons, including the following:
Full access to Eagle road does not equal an ability to travel both North and South on Eagle Road.
As we can attestJ there are rare times when traffic allows a left hand turn from OUf area onto
Eagle Road~ Most traffic will instead be forced to turn right (south.) Those same vehicles will then
have easy access to Ustick Road by then taking an immediate right onto our residential
neighborhood street. ACHDJs staff report on Bienvifle Square estimates at least 2,402 vehicle
trips per day will result from this development and that 65% of those will have destinations east or
west on Ustick or north on Eagle Road. Even if only 40oA, of those use Leslie Drive to facilitate this
travelJ we can expect more than 625 additional trips through our neighborhood each day.
Merjdjan$s website states that "our community is a vibrant and carjng community that is a premier
place to live, workJ and raise a family.u We all enjoy that way of life now~ We ask that you ensure
that we can continue dOing so by denying this variance, as it will not only threaten the quality of
OUf lives. it will endanger the lives of our children.
