Re: Red Cliff's request for full access to North Eagle Rd. - Bienville project
I don't know what else to say to you that I've not already put in writing in all ofthese meetings
that have been held concerning this particular property. I've heard a rumor that Red Cliff has a
ten million dollar suit pending against the city and if that is factual, I sincerely hope it will not
have any influence in any decision made concerning this issue. I personally feel that if that is so,
Red Cliff has a right to bring such action but I also feel that it smacks of blackmail, just my
optmon.
As I drive Eagle Road I see that access to existing streets is being blocked with medians. If that
is the way traffic is now being controlled I can see no way that a full access should be granted to
Red Cliff. It would seem to me that Red Cliff be required to make some effort to make the flow
of traffic within their own plan flow easily and readily out to U stick instead of access to Eagle
Road.
As for the problem of traffic that will be generated through the Carol Subdivision, I see no way
to control all of the traffic we are now experiencing and the future traffic unless the Council,
Zoning, ACfID and ITD agree to cap off Leslie Dr. at Eagle with the appropriate knock-down
gates and a new decent fence with noise abating properties. Because this neighborhood is small
the children could walk to Ustick and Leslie Way to catch school buses, and if there were a need
for an emergency vehicle to turn there are plenty of large drive ways as we have acre plus
properties. In fact in my own experience the ambulance drove up the driveway almost to the
front door. Also as construction has taken place along Leslie and Justin PI. the very large trucks
are able to negotiate turning with little trouble using the lustinlLeslie Dr. intersection or a
driveway so I think the question of emergency vehicles and school buses is moot. Unfortunately
the cut through traffic we are dealing with at this -time is not. - -
I'm sure that I do not have to reiterate that no one in Carol subdivision is in favor of Bienville
but we know that we will have to live with a most unfortunately conceived plan and hope that
Council will do what it can to alleviate our concerns.
Sincerely,
Betty Rossow
