COMMON DRIVEWAY—ALTERNATIVE COMPLIANCE
Meridian City Code only allows for 3 units to access one side of a common driveway but allows for 4 units total
to access off of one common driveway. The homes proposed on this common driveway are two attached
homes, not separate structures We believe that alternative compliance should be approved for the following
reasons.
• The city council approved that plan as it was proposed at the city council hearing.
• The project has additional open space and amenities beyond what is required for a development of
this size.
• The overall distance of the common driveway is no longer than that of that of a driveway with two or
three units. There will be no impact on life safety or other back up distance requirements.
• The units are attached and to provide conformity with the other homes on the street we believe this
request is justified.
For these reasons we believe that alternative compliance requirements have been met.
