SUBJECT: Sundance Place Subdivision PP 02-010
The following will be the requirements to provide minimum levels of frre protection for the project:
1. That a frre-flow of 1,000 gallons per minute be available to service the entire project. Fire
hydrants shall be placed an average of 400' apart. 1997 UFC Appendix III-A
2. Operational fire hydrants and temporary or permanent street signs are required before
combustible construction begins. UFC 901.4.2 & 901.3
3. Acceptance of water supply for frre protection is contingent upon acceptance of the water system
by the City of Meridian for water quality.
4. Final Approval of Fire hydrant locations sball by the Fire Department.
5. All radii shall be 28' inside and 48' outside radius.
6. Insure that all yet undeveloped parcels are maintained free of combustible vegetation per
1103.2.4 of the Uniform Fire Code.
7. The proposed project lies outside the five-minute response zone goal. Achievement of this goal is
subject to budgetary constraints and is intended to enhance the probability of a favorable outcome on a
request for Basic Life Support. The budget constraints are typically defiued as capital outlay for facilities
that are located within 1.5 miles from a given location and sufficient operational funds to staff the
facilities.
8. The proposed 144 lot subdivision with an estimated 2.8 residents per household (per COMPASS
projections) would have a total estimated population of 403 residents at build out. Based on current
response trends experienced by the Meridian Fire Department this would generate an estimated 24
additional responses or a 1 % increase in our total run volume annually. According to a report completed
by Fire & Emergency Services Consulting Group in February of 2000 our requests for service are
projected to reach 2800 in the year 2005 and 3800 by the year 2010, this is up from 2069 responses in the
year 2000.
9. The roadways sball be built to Ada County Highway Standards with a minimum street width of
34'. UFC 902.2.1

10. A 20' wide second means of access shall be provided on Block 70r Block 5 and be connected
when the projected exceeds 30 dwellings. UFC 902.2.1
