I am writing to express my deep concerns about the proposed development Tanner Creek Subdivision H-
2022-0048 in our community, particularly its impact on our schools and the overall vision outlined in the
City of Meridian's Comprehensive Plan.

The current state of our schools is alarming,with a lack of expansion and new construction to
accommodate the rising student enrollment and population growth. Funding for schools has become a
pressing issue, evident from the challenges in passing levies or obtaining sufficient financial support.The
data presented today, based on 2016 figures (see image on 2"d page),fails to account for the unforeseen
population boom in recent years. By 2028, the overcapacity numbers may far exceed what was initially
projected, posing a serious threat to the quality of education in Meridian.
Furthermore,the proposed development contradicts the city's future zoning map, designating the land
for mixed-use community development, not high-density residential use. I believe a low-density mixed-
use, such as a senior living community with low-density offices or a community center, would be more
suitable and efficient for the area, avoiding undue strain on our schools.
Most importantly,this development does not align with the City of Meridian's Comprehensive Plan,
which emphasizes preserving our community's character, quality of life, and sustainability. Overcrowding
in schools and compromising the education of our children are outcomes that our community does not
desire.The proposed 410 homes,with their high density, are unsuitable for the area and will
undoubtedly have adverse effects on our students and schools.
In consideration of these concerns, I respectfully urge you to deny approval for this development. Our
children deserve a future that aligns with the values and vision of our community, preserving their
educational experience and the unique character of Meridian.
