Ms. Hersh, I understand that a preliminary plan for subdivision development at 200 Rosalyn Dr, Meridian, ID was submitted around two weeks ago and that is currently under review. My house backs up to this property and I have seen the plans that the Binghams submitted. The neighborhood is unanimously opposed to these plans. We do not support adding townhomes, let alone seven of them on less than 0.75 acre. I fully support property rights, return on investment, and the need for more housing in our area. We proposed to the Binghams that three to four single family homes would have little to no opposition. While we wouldn't be thrilled with that space being developed, we understand the need for more housing and the Bingham's desire to make money on their investment. However, they have consistently pushed for townhomes and have been very opaque to borderline misleading about this development. We received a letter last month for a neighborhood meeting to discuss the applications "...to have four (4) lots taking access on the same side of the common lot." All the neighbors read this as they were going to develop four single family houses until we went to the meeting and saw the plans still showed seven townhomes. I ask the city to deny this application and recommend that single family homes be built. I would also ask for this plot of land to be rezoned to prohibit this sort of housing development in the future. 1 Thank you for your time and please let me know if you have any questions.
