Broadway Ave. #102 Meridian, Idaho 83642 1 am writing to express my concerns about the proposed construction of seven units on the lot at 200 Rosalyn Dr in Meridian. As a neighborhood resident, I am appalled by the potential for such dense structures to shatter the character and fabric of our community completely. The owners of the property have already said that they plan on keeping roughly half the unit to rent out, which could undoubtedly lead to detrimental effects in our neighborhood. Although the lot is currently zoned for R8, which permits up to eight buildings to be erected on the property, it is outrageous Meridian hasn't already rezoned this and other lots in the area to a low-density residential district (R2) as called for in the Meridian Future Land Use Plans. The R2 rezoning for this lot and others in the area would accurately reflect the identity of the existing residential neighborhood. It is abundantly clear that the planned construction is entirely out of character and utterly incompatible with the vision for the future of our neighborhood. Meridian Future Land Use Map I ask that you reject the current plan for seven units and take immediate action to Comprehensive Plan: Appendix D rezone the lot to R2, as the Meridian Future Zoning Plan calls for. This would alleviate - - _-- ' the issue of anyone now or in the future ; trying to build such dense housing in our --_-----_ -- - -- -- neighborhood. 9 I understand that the rezoning process takes time, but it is imperative that you inform my neighbors and me of the steps p we need to take to begin the process as soon as possible. I''. 1E ROSALYN Thank you for your time and consideration, though I must admit that I am thoroughly disappointed that this situation has arisen in the first place.
