Dear Ms. Allen,
Valley Regional Transit has reviewed the request for conditional use permit application for
multi-family development located near E Franklin Rd and Locust Grove. VRT has identified
Locust Grove as a key north-south transit route in the future as identified in the long-range
transit plan Valley Connect 2.0 valleyconnect2 apr18 final.pdf(valleyregionaltransit.org) (see page
49). As this area will continue to be developed future bus stops would be beneficial to riders in
this location. A discontinued bus stop is indicated in google but lacks a concrete pad. Given the
proposed multi-family development, it would make sense to locate the bus stop closer to the
development. As a result, VRT suggests the following:
VRT suggests the following conditions:
1. Valley Regional Transit requires a standard bus stop (size small) with a concrete pad
10'x10' be poured between the sidewalk and curb on Locust Grove (location identified
below). This can be a 7'X10' add on to back of the existing 3' sidewalk (shown in red
below). The purpose of the pad is to provide an ADA compliant boarding/alighting area.
The concrete pad will allow VRT to schedule a stop there as part of future route
implementation and move amenities such as signage and a bench onsite in accordance
with the Bus Stop Typology Kit of Parts(page 22). BST KitOfParts.pdf

2. A transit review application needs to be completed and returned to Valley Regional
Transit at least 45 days prior to the estimated construction date for review and
approval. A completed application will provide VRT the applicants contact information,
construction schedule and proposed pad location. There is no fee for the application.
