HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - Narrative NARRATIVE 224 West Cherry Ave Meridian, ID 83642 Conditional Use Permit Request For Extension of Nonconforming Use Dear City Permit Office, We are requesting a conditional use permit for our property located at 224 West Cherry Avenue Meridian, ID 83642. Our intention is to add an additional bedroom to our existing house because we are expecting our fourth child in July. We find ourselves facing an undue hardship in meeting the current requirements for adding a covered parking space along with the new bedroom. The constraints of our lot size make it infeasible to comply with the setback requirements. This in addition to the fact that our current house and parking doesn't meet the minimum covered parking standards we are requesting an extension of this nonconforming use. Although building another enclosed parking is not feasible, we are sure the addition of an extra bedroom will not pose any adverse impact on public health, safety, or welfare. The increased number of occupants in our home will not contribute to a higher demand for parking spaces. Furthermore, we already have sufficient parking options available to us. Firstly, we possess a long gravel driveway adjacent to our existing driveway, measuring approximately 13' by 20', which serves as an area for additional parking. Secondly, we have ample parking space in front of our house to accommodate any extra vehicles that may visit. We firmly believe that granting this conditional use permit and extension of nonconforming use will not be detrimental to public health, safety, or welfare. On the contrary, it will enable us to provide a suitable living environment for our growing family without compromising the existing regulations or inconveniencing our neighbors.
