RE: Lennon Pointe Subdivision-Kellogg Drain Design / Revised letter and plans dated 4/18/23 /
Landscape plans dated 8/26/22
Dear Kurt:
Nampa&Meridian Irrigation District(NMID)has finished its review of this proposed project in Meridian, which
affects the District's Kellogg Drain and Creason Lateral. The easement for the Kellogg Drain at this location is a
minimum of sixty feet (60') total, thirty feet (30') from centerline each side. The easement for the Creason
Lateral at this location is a minimum of sixty feet(60')total, twenty feet(20') left and forty feet(40')right from
centerline,while facing downstream.
Plans indicate that the Kellogg Drain will be relocated and piped in 24-inch Class III RCP in an open jointed
design allowing the ground water to infiltrate the pipeline. Proposed encroachments include one (1) building pad
encroaching no farther than five feet (5'); asphalt parking and drive isle, concrete curbing and gutters, and
concrete sidewalks. Existing gravity irrigation water delivered to this property will be diverted via a connection to
an 18-inch pipeline and discharged to the Kellogg Drain. Landscaping encroachments consisting of grasses and
small shrubs only (specifically excluding trees). A pedestrian pathway will be built crossing over and within the
easement of the relocated Kellogg Drain. All storm water shall be retained on-site and irrigation water will be
provided for through a private system. Encroachments of grasses only is proposed within the easement of the
Creason Lateral.
NMID will find this project acceptable providing a license agreement is obtained for the relocation and piping of
the Kellogg Drain along with the proposed encroachments listed above. A grant of easement will also be required
for the new location along with a relinquishment of easement for the old location of this facility. A pathway
agreement between NMID and the City of Meridian is also required.
