Meridian City Council:
I would like to express my support for the rezone of 909 NE 4th St, from the R-15 zoning
district to the O-T zoning district according to the Tuesday June 27th, 2023 City Council
Regular Meeting agenda Section 5.
Chelsea of Pearl house Collective and Fourth Street Books is an exemplary community
member and has recognized the need for an independent book store in the Downtown
Meridian core. Having known and done business with her in the past 3 years I can tell you
that she is an asset to the city of Meridian. Her plans for Fourth Street Books have carefully
and respectfully considered the building’s history while looking forward to the
neighborhood’s future.
The City Council of Meridian is in a unique place right now, where their decisions will
shape this burgeoning community for years in the future. I ask that City Council welcome
locally owned small businesses, like Fourth Street Books, because of their strong community
involvement and their positive trickle down impact on the neighborhoods and people
around them.
Thank you for your time,
Stephanie Alvis
