Honorable Council Members,
I am writing to express my ardent support for this project. Meridian will be greatly benefitted by the addition
of this small business and it will be just one more reason to visit the downtown Meridian area. I am quite
certain that the NIMBY crowd will be at the meeting on Tuesday to loudly protest about how this bookstore
will bring congestion and crowding to the local streets. They will claim that children playing in the streets will
be run over by all of the cars and traffic. To that I say, children shouldn't play in the streets. Also, it's unlikely
that this small bookstore will result in a ton of additional traffic, as it's a very small business and not some
mega-store. My family already has plans to park near Generations Plaza and WALK to this bookstore when it
opens. I think it will be a great addition to the walkable downtown area that we all crave and will fill a niche
market that only adds to the cultural fabric of our city.
Please vote in favor of this rezone and encourage young entrepreneurs like Chelsea and Chase Major as they
pursue their dreams.
