I am writing to register my strong opposition to the approval of the conditional use permit that would allow the
developer of Linder Village in Orchard Park to build a 5 story apartment building. As I understand it, this was not what
was previously approved and the community is very much against such a tall and high density development going into
the Orchard Park property.
The level of development in Meridian, particularly high density development, is getting ridiculous and many
homeowners I know are up in arms about the city council seeming to cave to developers at the expense of the
desirability of our communities and the growing traffic and congestion on our major roads. Chinden is bad enough and
will only be getting worse when the planned commercial buildings are completed. Linder, Meridian, MacMillan and
others are getting so busy that it is sometimes difficult to pull out onto the road if your neighborhood doesn't have a
light. The traffic is also increasing dangerous driving around pedestrians in and around the schools nearby. This is only
going to get tremendously worse with a 500+ unit complex being built as well.
Please vote as if you lived in these impacted neighborhoods. People I know in many subdivisions in the area are
frustrated and angry with the degree of development, and in particular with the idea of going 5 stories when there is
nothing that tall in the entire area. Please vote no to this expansion in the development plans.
