Mr. Johnson,
As a resident of the Paramount neighborhood in Meridian, I am writing to voice my opposition to the proposal to
construct a five-story, 500+ apartment building on lots 12 & 13 of the Linder Village/Orchard Park development.
Paramount is a lovely medium-density residential neighborhood. There are no other five-story structures anywhere near
this area. Existing apartment complexes are typically three stories or less and consist of multiple buildings. Consider, for
example, the Prelude at Paramount complex at the corner of Meridian and McMillan Roads; Linder Springs at the
southwest corner of McMillan and Linder, or the newest complex known as Olivia apartments at Lost Rapids, adjacent to
Costco.
The nearest five-story structures are located several miles away along Eagle Road near the Village shopping district.
These are rightly located in a high-density residential zoning district. At over 90,000 square feet, this massive proposed
structure could house over 2,000 residents and is clearly a high-density residential project.
The proposed structure is not proportional to the surrounding structures and is strongly opposed by our friends and
neighbors in Paramount. The Treasure Valley is growing at a break-neck pace and is already outpacing its infrastructure.
As a healthcare worker, I see firsthand what happens when the population grows faster than critical services.
Please do not allow this five-story, 500+ apartment building on lots 12 & 13 of the Linder Village/Orchard Park
development to proceed.
Sincerely,
Dr. Russell Singleton
