My husband and I just looked at the modifications the developer of Orchard Park would like to make moving
forward. We don't see any issues with changing the details in the shopping areas, but the addition of a 500-unit, five
story apartment complex is much too big for this area. Here are our concerns:
The roads around and through Paramount subdivision won't support the increased amount of traffic 500 units
would generate. The traffic inside of Paramount is already dicey during beginning and ending of school
schedules, and will be further increased by the multi-family units that are already approved along the greenbelt
at the Southern border of Orchard Park. Adding another 500 units full of people will make the morning and
afternoon traffic dangerous.
There are already multi-family complexes inside our 1-square mile development (Prelude and Linder Springs),
but an additional 500 units is too many people for this area to support
Originally, the developer presented Orchard Park as retail, professional and office space. That provides
amenities and works with the surrounding homes without creating too much traffic our subdivision roads are
not designed for.
We hear that the amendments to the plan are ALL considered together. That doesn't make sense, and we feel each
change should be considered individually.
Thanks for your consideration.
