STATE OF IDAHO
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, There are a significant number of Treasure Valley citizens who are medically
underserved for a number of reasons, the most prominent of which include geographical
isolation, financial barriers, and an insufficient number of health care providers; and
WHEREAS, Teny Reilly Health Services is a private, not-far-profit corporation that provides
high quality comprehensive primary health care to medically un-served or underserved people
in the Treasure Valley, promoting individual responsibility and health awareness in the
community, and offering primary preventive health care of the highest quality to reduce
preventable deaths, costly disabilities, and communicable diseases; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bob LeBow served Terry Reilly Health Services and the Treasure Valley for
over twenty-five years, delivering the highest quality health-care to his community and
inspiring thoughtful public policy around the world; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bob LeBow fought to bring quality health-care to those most in need,
including the most vulnerable members of our society, and established the "Zero Pay Fund" to
meet their needs when circumstances are most desperate; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bob LeBow was a life-long cyclist who rode bicycles more than 200,000
miles on six continents, including across the Himalayas into Tibet; and
WHEREAS, Terry Reilly Health Services has honored the life and legacy of Dr. Bob LeBow
by establishing the "Bob LeBow Bike Tour" since 2003, creating a family-friendly
community event for cyclists of all ages and ski111evels and with the mission to raise money
for the "Zero Pay Fund";
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tammy de Weerd, Mayor of the City of Meridian do hereby
proclaim Saturday, June 11,2005 as "Bob LeBow Bike Tour Day" throughout the Treasure
Valley and urge our citizens to recognize the important contributions of Dr. Bob LeBmv and
Terry Reilly Health SenJices to the improvement of the general quality oflife in our
communities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Meridian does hereby recognize the
important contribution of Bob LeBow and Terry Reilly Health Services to the
improvement of general quality of life of our citizens.
