My primary concern is with the continuing conditions of approval from the Police Department not reflecting the revisions that have been made previously. We appreciate your assistance in this matter. Watertower, Suite 202 Meridian, ID 83642 Re: Canterbury Commons Subdivision Applications AZ-06-013, PP-06-011, CUP-06006, PS-05-005 Dear Caleb: Thank you for providing the latest staff report in advance of the hearing before the Meridian City Council. The Applicant, American West Homes, LLC, appreciates Staff's diligent work in this matter, Moreover, we appreciate Staffs recommendation for approval subject, of course, to the conditions of approval.. We are generally satisfied with the staff report and its recommendations. The Applicant is continuing to work closely with Idaho Power to ensure that their issues have been fully addressed as set forth in the staff report, Moreover, the Applicant has no objection to Idaho Power's requests for future review and evaluation. The one issue of continuing concern are the proposed conditions of approval from the Meridian Police Department, specifically those found in Section 4,3, 4..4 and 4.,5 of Exhibit B.. As you know, the Applicant did undertake significant revisions previously to address the Meridian Police Department's concerns" In particular, at the behest of Staff and the Meridian Police Department, the Applicant removed a building in the Northwest corner of the property that the Meridian Police Department felt was too isolated" Moreover, at the request of the Commission and Staff, additional pathways were added to improve connectivity within and through the development in order to enhance the development's amenities" Additional recreation amenities were also provided aUhe request of the Commission to enhance the development Revised preliminary plat and landscape plans have previously been submitted evidencing those requested changes" C" Caleb Hood July 7,2006 Page 2 The Applicant remains concerned, however, that the conditions of approval noted above do not accurately reflect the content of the current preliminary plat and landscape plan before the Meridian City Council, The Applicant requests clarification that the modifications to the preliminary plat and landscaping that have been made at the behest of the Meridian Police Department, the Commission and Staff are in fact satisfactory to the Meridian Police Department and the modification of the conditions of approval set out in Sections 4,3,4.4 and 4,,5 of Exhibit 8, If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me" I will attend the hearing together with my client and my client's consultants.
