Paris In-Home Daycare: Project Proposal
To whom it may concern,
The goal of the project “Paris In-Home Daycare” is to run a safe and functioning daycare,
operating Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, MST.
The facility is a residential house built in 1976 and is 1,556 square feet. This space includes a
kitchen, dining room, full bathroom, and a sitting area used as the main ‘play space’ for the
clientele. The back yard is entirely enclosed by a 6’ fence with all locking mechanisms located
on the outside of the gates to ensure child safety. This outdoor play area has a full, well-
maintained grass yard with sufficient room for bikes, balls, and traditional age-appropriate
outdoor activities. These facility areas are outlined in greater depth in the submitted “Floor Plan”
document. The rest of the home is off limits to daycare clientele during provided hours of
operation, and is closed off accordingly.
To ensure safe and efficient parent/guardian drop-off and pick-up, the facility’s driveway has
available space for three vehicles at a time as well as ample street parking in front of the home.
Parent/guardian drop-offs are typically concluded by 7:00 AM, and 5:30 PM for pick-ups. These
interactions last no longer than 5 mins, and do not interfere with neighborhood traffic nor put the
children at risk.
Parents and guardians are informed of and comply with the posted 20 MPH speed limit in the
neighborhood. On-site transportation is not required nor provided, and all personal vehicles are
parked in a two-car garage located along the side yard of the home. This side yard has a 4' fence,
likewise equipped with locking mechanisms located on the outside of the gates to ensure child
safety.
It is no secret that safe and reliable child care is in great demand in the area. If granted, the
requested permit would allow up to 12 children to attend “Paris In-Home Daycare.” The facility
plans to follow the existing codes set by the IdahoSTARS, and commits to working with local
officials to ensure that day-to-day activities run as safely and effectively as possible.
