My name is Steve Grant. I live at 1534 N Leslie Way, Meridian which borders the western boundary of this project. I
have several concerns that I'd like you to be aware of.
When the homes to the south were built several years ago a few Leslie Way homeowners, including myself, negotiated
with the developer to construct a masonry wall along the western boundary. Future applicants to develop the northern
parcels have indicated they would complete the masonry wall from its existing endpoint to Ustick Road. Please be sure
this is still their plan. The wall will provide separation between the apartment complex and our
property. Although there are only 3 homes impacted, completion would be the proper thing to do to maintain the
esthetics and functionality of the wall.
My second concern is traffic congestion on Centerpoint Way. In previous meetings with the city council only brief
mention of this issue was made. With 300-400 cars exiting the apartment complex during peak hours, without
modifications the road can't accommodate the traffic. At a minimum, I believe the road should be widened to allow a
right turn lane onto eastbound Utsick and and if possible, a left hand turn lane going west on Ustick. Since there will be
2 story apartments on the west side of Centerpoint those residents will have a hard time turning left to exit their parking
lot as they will be competing with those exiting the main complex who will likely be turning right.
If the lanes aren't widened, traffic will stack longer and likely will impair my ability to exit Leslie Way onto Ustick which is
already congested at certain times of the day.
Thanks for your consideration in this important matter.
Steve Grant
